How do I get a website?

A question that is most often asked to me by people all over. It has a simple answer and more importantly a straight forward answer. But before I address that question let me explain what a web site is in plain and simple terms.

A web site is a collection of virtual pages stored on a network or a PC that can be accessed using a web browser.

So, now that you know what a website is, let us answer a few more questions that are common:

What is a domain name? A domain name is an identification label to define a realm of administrative autonomy, authority, or control in the Internet, based on the Domain Name System (DNS).

How do I register a domain name for my company? It is simple. Visit co.za for more information on how you can get your domain name. You will be shown how to do it, where to make payment etc.

So now that you know these few things let us look at how you can get yourself a website. There are many ways that you could learn to get a website up and running and no one way is better than the other is. You could stop over at your nearest bookstore and browse through the many resources that they may have, you could head over to your local library to check out their resources or you could hire a professional web design company. This all really depends on your needs.

If you plan to use your website for personal reason then there are plenty of free ways that you can get a website. Try WordPress, Blogger, or HubPages. These sites offer you free ways of getting your ideas and information out on the web and some of them can even hel you make money from it.

If you plan to develop a high-end business presence then I suggest that you start looking into ways to get your own personalized domain name and begin developing your web presence from scratch. You would not want to look like part of the heard in this case.

It is always advisable for you to get as much information as you possibly can before you go ahead and hire someone to complete your online projects. Ask them questions, have a look at the type of work they have done in the past, compare prices and ensure that you can have a one on one with them.
