Just finished the new design for the Proniit Online Media and Marketing blog. It took months before I d get the simplicity behind it right but I finally did it and it looks great. There are still a lot of tweaks to me made and hopefully in the near future I will be able to include more features and a lighter sidebar.

“After reading this article, I couldn’t think of a better way to explain SEO”

    -Editor

The fact is every search engine has a different formula to accord ranking for a Web page. Keyword-rich copy that the search engines favor may not ideally form the text -especially not on the front page! Using flash animation and of graphics may make the site appealing, but as the search engines can not index these well, one has to inevitably use gateway pages.

Some business owners may argue that their sites need to be one up on the others and would want liberal use of flash animation and lots of graphics, They may be somewhat disinclined to change this attitude just to satisfy the search engines.

Web is dynamic in nature, things change faster than we blink an eye. In the infancy days, internet was static, meaning it didn’t change unless the site owner/administrator changed anything in it. But these days the user generates the content. Blogs, forums, social networks, all are public generated content. All this became possible with the advent of the dynamic languages. HTML allowed the creation of web pages easily, but updating them required manual updating by the webmaster. Whereas dynamic websites use a database and a dynamic language which made it possible to update the website without the intervention of the webmasters.

  • Google's common sense killed the SEO guru... We were stumped

For the past few years, everyone has been wondering why their Google rankings have collapsed, because as far as they knew they were some of the best at optimizing web pages (and that was often times correct).

I know for a fact what has happened and why it is so much harder to succeed on Google now days, and I can almost guarantee some of the things that were said at Google. I bet several executives and employees of Google said “How can we make sure that all the web sites appearing in our results are valuable resources?”. Which makes complete sense because without valuable results in their search engines; they lose their stance as the best search engine on the internet. I also bet someone came up with a simple, yet, extremely bright idea and said something like this “Why don’t we just change the algorithm so that it takes true hard work; or true popularity for people to get to the top of our search engine?”, or something of that nature.

  • How Can CSS Benefit Website Design For Google?

CSS or Cascading Style Sheets is a stylesheet language that describes the presentation of web documents. Web pages that are written in HTML and XHTML can be styled in many ways by using CSS. In fact CSS allows to separate the stylistic elements of the web page like layout, color and fonts from the content matter like textual paragraphs and images. This is called separation of content from presentation.

  • Internet Marketing on the World Wide Web

With so many marketing strategies that have worked for so many people it is difficult to get a clear understanding of which one will work for you. Technology has reached a point where it is now so easy to pin point where an on line business fails and how one can make that business a success or rather, revive it. There is such a host of important and usable information available that are literally clicks away from you and all it takes is a little bit of understanding. Technology can now be very easy to obtain and implement for any business of any size even if you do not have ANY capital. I say this because of the wealth of open source software available. I admit though, that sometimes, the open source and free packages take a little bit of extra work to tweak and to get working right. None-the-less, they are worth it especially if you are on a tight budget or have no budget to speak off.

I have had a lot of people ask me about the differences between Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing. There seems to be a lot of confusion between these terms in everyday use. However, their explanations are simple, to the point and concise which makes distinguishing between one and the other very easy.

  • Social Media Revolution - How To

There has been a great deal of change in the way that businesses view social media marketing over the years. Many businesses prefer to stick to the ‘old’ methods and it can work very well with properly designed budgets and an awesome team to create the campaign. However, when it comes to smaller business that have a small budget or no budget t speak of, the solutions can be quite simple. I say this bearing in mind that the results would not be the same as having a large budget. Using incremental marketing strategies you can accomplish a lot in a small space of time and as you begin to make a profit from these services you can then begin to save for bigger marketing.

The number one reason that free lance web designers fail at getting as much work as possible is that they just cannot keep up with the trends and technology changes that happen literally overnight. The web is evolving at a rate that not many people can keep up with and the new association with the integration of social media defines a whole new direction for web designers. The content and methods that are currently being used to keep web design and development alive with change are expanding with lightening speed.

  • Updated List of Ping Services for Your Blogs

    What are pings?

‘Ping’ is a computer network tool used to test whether a particular host is reachable across an IP network; it is also used to self test the network interface card of the computer, or as a speed test. It works by sending ICMP “echo request” packets to the target host and listening for ICMP “echo response” replies. Ping measures the round-trip time[1] and records any packet loss, and prints when finished a statistical summary of the echo response packets received, the minimum, mean, max and in some versions the standard deviation of the round trip time.

Well, that’s according to Wikipedia. As far as I know, when using blogging software you can automatically inform social networks like Technorati of your updates using a Ping. As soon as you hit the publish button the network (site) is pinged and notified of the updates and made available for others to see.

Here is the list that I have of updated ping services:

  • Web Design: Gone to the Blogs

Now days it is all to easy to implement a complete website using blogging software such as WordPress.

With the number of websites being designed and implemented by wordpress.org blogging software on daily basis is on the increase because of its ease of use and functionality, has web design gone to the blogs?

It is  easy to search for templates and themes on the thousands of websites that provide them online and use them on your Wordpress blogs while configuring your blog to be used as a complete CMS solution that’s simple, but does this replace good, old fashioned web design. Tell us what you think in the comments form on this page.

This is my opinion – A blog should be a blog. Period. People should consider designing websites from the ground up as this ensures that your idea is completely unique and not used on elsewhere on the net. Sometimes this can prove difficult especially if your site involves a lot of high end dynamic content, forms, sales, etc but it is still not an excuse.
